Almost a year later I am finally putting the best day of my life into words. At least trying too! I am engaged to my most favorite person in the entire world TREYSON THOMAS SUPAK!!
After almost 5 years of dating, he popped the question on a Sunday afternoon.
Trey was about to head off to Arizona for Spring Training, so we were going to brunch with my family for a last get together before baseball season started.
I will give y’all a little background info on the situation. Trey and I had been dating for a while and he wanted me to go with him during the season because we were both over the whole long-distance thing. I had told him many times that I was not going to be with him the whole season until he put a ring on my finger. So, me being the control freak that I am had been waiting for him to ask me since October when he came home. Holidays, family gatherings, weekend trips they all came and went and no ring. I had come to the conclusion that he was not going to be asking me before he left. I was more frustrated than sad because I knew eventually it was going to happen, just not this offseason.
Back to the story, we had brunch in my hometown at a newly opened restaurant on our town square “22 North Holland”. This is a very nontraditional restaurant in my hometown as it serves fancier foods and drinks. We went there for brunch because if any of you know my family we eat “normal”, basic food and the brunch menu was more our style. Trey was acting a little nervous at brunch, but I did not think anything of it. Little did I know that he had the ring in his front left pocket, and I was sitting on his left side. He was thinking that I would notice it and the surprise would be over, but for once I didn’t. We finished brunch and we all went back to my parents’ house to hang out before we watched the super bowl.
I knew something was off with Trey when we got home and he wanted to take a picture. Trey never was the one who wanted to take pictures, I am always the one who makes him take pictures with me. Bethany, my sister, takes a picture of us in my parent’s backyard and I was like okay looks good to me we can go inside now. As I start to walk off back into the house with my sister Trey grabs me and gets down on one knee! I won’t go into much detail on what all he said but he started off with “we’ve been going at this awhile….”
It was a perfect engagement for us! No big scene or production, just simple and about our love. Afterwards we took a few pictures with my family and we all went inside and changed into comfy clothes and waited for the Superbowl to start! A day I will never forget!
