I hope everyone had a delightful and fun Easter weekend with family and friends! Trey and I started our morning with bunny shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast! It was a fun and easy way to get into the Easter spirit before we headed off to Church.
On our walk back to our apartment after church, I noticed these HUGE blooming bougainvillea on ASU’s campus. During the spring, these plants can be seen blooming all over the Phoenix area. It adds beautiful pops of luscious pink into the brown desert landscape. We snapped a few photos, took in the beauty, then continued on our walk.
Once back, we decided to relax by the pool for a few hours to read and enjoy the warm Easter sunshine. The only other plans we had for the day were to prepare and cook our Easter dinner. And of course, Sunday baseball!
We decided to keep with our families traditional Easter meal to bring a part of home to Phoenix. These items included ham, broccoli and rice, green bean casserole, and of course some kind of dessert! I chose to make easter themed cupcakes! It was our first time to cook some of these sides but overall, I think we nailed it!
It was so nice to celebrate our first Easter as a married couple and start our own Easter traditions, as well as carry on some of our family favorites. As to where we will celebrate next year, who knows! But we have learned we can take our traditions wherever the road takes us.
