Viva Las Vegas!
Shocked, tremendously overjoyed, plus a little bit stressed were the emotions once Trey got the call that he was going to Las Vegas. We were both so excited and could not wait to get there to be reunited with great friends.
Our first stop on the crazy 3 months of travel that followed was Salt Lake City, Utah. It was a great first triple-A road trip as we got to explore a new city and meet a few new girls! If you are ever in downtown Salt Lake City, I highly recommend eating at Eggsburgh it was fantastic! We ate there 3 times that week.
We were in a different city/state each week so there were many long Sundays and Mondays spent at airports. I went to most of the road series because we were going to have to pay for a hotel whether I stayed in Vegas or went with the team. One bright side of being in triple- A, the wives were able to take the team bus to the airport and be on the same flight as the team. That saved us from having to spend money on Ubers which was very helpful!
Once back in Las Vegas the team put us up in the Red Rock Casino for three nights. We felt like we were on vacation those few days because the hotel was top notch, and the pool was so relaxing! Since the truck was being shipped from Midland, it was very convenient that the Red Rock was across the street from the stadium so that we could both walk to the stadium for the games. For the rest of the time, we were in Las Vegas we stayed at the Suncoast Casino Hotel. I joked with Trey about how I never thought that I would live in a hotel for a year but a casino at that!
The Las Vegas Ballpark is one of the nicest minor league ballparks that I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot ha! The families of the players were treated like royalty. We were given passes that gave us a discount off of food and drinks plus a suite every night. The suites were very nice when it was 100 plus outside. If you are ever in Vegas during the baseball season, I highly suggest venturing out to Summerlin and partaking in a baseball game. After the game goes across the street to the shopping center and eat at Frankies Uptown and try a stroll! They are super yummy and come in so many flavors.
A few of the cities we traveled to were Albuquerque (saw Vanessa Hudgens at a game), Reno (froze at a few games in August), and Round Rock. Being in Round Rock was bittersweet because we were able to see so many friends and family that week it felt like we were home. We did not want to leave and say our goodbyes.
This season for me was one of the best because there were so many great girls that made going to the games so fun. We always celebrated each other and went out to eat once a week which brought us closer. We even threw an impromptu baby shower for one of the girls! I am going to miss all of those girls so much but hope that our paths cross again in the baseball world.
There were so many things to be thankful for this season for Trey. First full HEALTHY season since 2019! Ended the year in Triple-A! How successful he was! Plus the countless memories and friends made! The 2023 season was one we will never forget!
2024 baseball season we pray you are just as good! Bring on the free agency offseason!
